Arrive to Dubai - 14+ hours on the plane later. When I arrived at ATL, I went to the gate and met Maxine and Mark. Slowly there after team members arrived. We were all praying for Sam our leader as he had missed his flight to Atlanta and was scrambling onto another. After a bit of casual introductions we boarded our flight.
Team Afghanistan at Atlanta was
Sam - leader DMD
Mark, ID/IM MD
Tim, Youth Paster
Jennifer, RN student
Maxine, RN
Kimberly. OB-GYN MD
Karen, ER RN
Lorrence, - ENT MD

On our flight there was a strange feeling that made me think of the gold rush. Everyone I met was a contractor heading over to the Middle East, choosing to leave their families, in hope of earning big. There were ex-military men heading back to work as contractors and civilians going to work on the bases as contractors.
Safely in Dubai, with all our luggage we went to out hotel. With totally body confusion - I am thinking it is 12N and the time is almost 10p. Several of us walked down the street to a restaurant. The menu was pita, Hommos (that's how they spell it), Falafel, Cucumbers and yogurt, fresh mango juice and lamb. Now with a full belly, I hope to drop for about 7 hours of sleep.
Tomorrow we leave for Kabul. There is some concern about our luggage/baggage limits. We are hoping that bringing all our supplies in will not be to expensive for us.
